So, for a few years now, I’ve been imagining a release that featured solo, instrumental harmonica, with sounds I would explore during my busking days. Taking nods from #sonnyboywilliamson #tommybasker #mickkinsella #reverendgarydavis as well the cities I was immersed in, I could just hang on the platform or in the station or on the street corner for hours until my toes were numb in Helsinki or it was time for a sandwich at the George’s Street Arcade(on the Drury side), or when the D would arrive at West 4th Street.
Once again, I’m working with @chillsmithchill and this here CD or “compact disc”(if you’ve never seen one), is as noted the Complete List of tracks recorded at his new studio.
There is no tracking or second takes, just straight from the hip, however, I could feel some of those old riffs, like an echo or an old memory, from those performances. Incomplete songs and workshopped ideas, ancient melodies carried in my blood to be completed or remembered, or not. Anyway, I sat down and played, and while I’ll never get rich off of these, they do mean something to me and I hope you give them a listen.
